Discovered at Kitchen Table Projects’ Artisan Springboard, these pitta chips are hand roasted in Tottenham.
Born out of a need to give dinner party guests something ‘to munch on pretty much as soon as they walk in the door’, the chips became a thing because founder Sophie Harvey discovered that the local grocery shops in Stoke Newington had rather a lot of pitta, chillies and garlic for sale.
This combination (together with olive oil, salt and pepper) just so happens to be the perfect ingredients for a tasty snack of oven roasted pitta chips.
These are hardier pitta chips than the super popular New York Style brand you’ll find in Whole Foods, as in, they’re pretty crunchy – but the flavours are far more interesting; Garlic & Chilli and Spring Onion & Parmesan, I Â had Rosemary & Thyme.
Super tasty, but definitely in need of a dip to pair 🙂 I’d go for classic hummus, but I think the herby ones especially would also work super well with a salsa.
